Work in the vineyard

Each action is well considered and is in the vineyard directed. Naturally our soils are plowed and we operate in accordance with the weeds in order to regulate the vitality in our vineyards and therefore restrain the diseases. With a good management of this plant cover, we don’t have to use any insecticide, anti-rot chemicals and we strongly restrict the use of weedkiller.

All our operations during the vegetative season are regulated in accordance with the limit of tolerance to the disease, therefore no treatment is consistent and we adapt the dosage to the vegetal with the best farming technologies. Moreover, the estate doesn’t reject any effluent and reprocess each of its waste.

Thanks to our practices, we are classified among the estates with the least treatment of the soil and the lowest index of Frequency Treatment in the Champagne region. As a result, we are included in the first certified estates for High Environmental Value level 3 agronomic path.

« Having a large land is not the most important, the soil deserves to be respected and one must let the vineyard express its character ».

Aerating the soils by plowing and cover planting favours the rooting of the vineyard and the microbial life.

When the rooting is deep, the imprint of the soil is stronger than that of the grape variety. The deeper the root, the more the nutritive elements can be extracted from the soil, which is a guarantee of the quality of the grapes.

This array of expressions engenders a personality and an identity that is distinctive for the blend of each of our vintages.

Our Values

The Champagne region, an array of unique soils, offers in each village, each hillside and each plot, different aromatic profiles that we want to respect and heighten.

As a result, this determination to preserve the unicity of terroirs leads us to select the best potential of grapes at the time of winemaking in order to elaborate elegant and complex champagnes: they are the living image of the soil where they come from.

Being convinced of the determining imprint of the soil for a high quality personalized champagne, we choose cultural practices respectful of the soil and the plant growing there. Our winegrowing is therefore well-thought-out, in order to favour the delicate balance between the soil, the vegetal and the weather.

Our objective aims at keeping living soils allowing an harmonious growth of the vineyards for it to provide healthy, ripe, balanced grapes. An essential guarantee for a premium champagne: our own!
